Darren Fuery Counselling Services

About Me

I work with adults and young people who feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of themselves. You may be experiencing anxiety, feeling shut down, or noticing patterns in relationships that are difficult to understand or change.

I am an integrative counsellor, drawing primarily on psychodynamic and humanistic approaches. My work is relational and trauma-informed, with a strong emphasis on emotional safety, understanding, and working at a pace that feels right for you.

Alongside my private practice, I work as a school counsellor, supporting emotional regulation, identity development, and relational difficulties. This experience shapes the way I work — with care, patience, and respect for each person’s individual process.

I am a BACP registered counsellor and work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework.

How I Can Help

People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be feeling anxious, low, emotionally shut down, or overwhelmed by thoughts or feelings that don’t seem to settle. You might notice repeating patterns in relationships, difficulties with boundaries, or a sense of not quite knowing who you are or what you need.

Counselling offers a confidential space to slow things down and begin to make sense of your inner world. Together, we can explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion, helping you understand where patterns come from and how they continue to affect you.

My aim is not to “fix” you, but to support you in developing greater awareness, emotional resilience, and a more grounded relationship with yourself and others. I offer support with:

  • Anxiety and emotional overwhelm

  • Low mood and self-esteem

  • Trauma and attachment difficulties

  • Identity and self-understanding

  • Relationship patterns and relational distress

  • Emotional regulation and feeling “shut down”

How Counselling Works

Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly at a regular time. Currently, I am available for online counselling.

We begin with an initial session to talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you’re hoping for. This is also a chance for you to get a sense of how I work and whether it feels right for you.

From there, we work together at a pace that feels manageable, with an emphasis on creating a safe, consistent space where you can speak freely and be met with understanding. Counselling is confidential and guided by clear ethical boundaries.

Fees

Online counselling sessions are £45 for 50 minutes.

Sessions usually take place weekly at a regular, agreed time.

If you’d like to ask any questions before booking, I offer a brief introductory call.
